Brush Hour tackles the unique effect of antisemitism on the demographic of Jewish teenagers. The feelings of isolation and loneliness are replaced with a sense of purpose, belonging, and community. Brush Hour empowers Jewish teenagers to become proud Ambassadors.

Brush Hour accomplishes this through events that encourage girls to express their Jewish identity through the most powerful agent of self-expression: the Arts.  The art which they create becomes a conversation starter and sparks meaningful discussion. The teenagers showcase their art and share the inspiration behind it.

The events foster a sense of belonging and community for the teens, strengthen their self image and identity as integral parts of the Jewish people and create an ambiance and environment of Jewish pride. This instills within the girls the self confidence to become proactive and engaged Jewish women, preparing them to  be the leaders of tomorrow.

"After joining the Brush Hour team and becoming more invested in it, I have learned how to take initiative and responsibility! I also met the most hardworking and fun group of High School girls who devote their time and energy to making this a reality."

"This event taught me how to feel more connected with myself and to cherish the peace and connection between us Jews. It gave me a profound story about our past and history. I learned that I, too, am a leader in my community. I have influence and use it positively and talk to younger girls and girls my age about how special this is."

"Educating ourselves about our identity not only gives us pride in who we are, it also directly combats Antisemitism. Brush Hour gives girls the tools to learn about themselves to be able to stand up for themselves and their people."
